"Eye on Entertainment" Covers Red Carpet at Eli Manning's ESPY Giant Event at J Bar & Lounge
(PRWEB) September 6, 2008 -- Dawna Lee Heising, "Eye on Entertainment" executive producer and hostess, has today announced that the show's latest segment contains red carpet interviews from the ESPYs Giant Event, which was hosted by New York Giants' Eli Manning. The pre-ESPY Award party was held at J Bar and Lounge in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, and included a private concert by The Roots and DJ Realm. The night was a showcase of the best in action sports -- to the tunes of the most talented in the music industry -- at the hottest place in LA -- with the greatest athletes in the world.
The ESPYs gather top celebrities from sports and entertainment to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major sports achievements, reliving unforgettable moments and saluting the leading performers and performances. The 2008 ESPYs, co-presented by HUMMER and Under Armour, included both sport-specific awards such as Best MLB Player and Best WNBA Player and distinguishing "Best in Sport" awards. The ESPYs are committed to the advancement of The V Foundation for Cancer Research, established by ESPN with the late Jim Valvano and announced at the inaugural ESPYs in 1993.
DJ Mike Realm warmed up the crowd at the ESPY Giant Event with his visual remix kung fu until The Roots took the stage for a single set. The New York Giants were in the house, including Michael Strahan, Eli Manning, Plaxico Burress and Brandon Jacobs. Other attendees included Terrell Owens, Bob Sanders, Dr. J, Brady Quinn, A.J. Hawk, Ray Allen, Greg Oden, Jerry Rice, Freddy Adu, Dennis Haskins, Sal Masekela, Trey Wingo, Stuart Scott and Hayden Panetierre.
Guest interviewer Brandon McNeil is an outstanding soccer player with the Orange County Kings Club, founded by Thomas Dooley. Public relations for the event were handled by Lauren Kelcher and Michael Samonte of the Lippin Group in Los Angeles, California.
